Baccarat – How the Banker Shows a Natural Nine

A natural nine is the highest possible hand in baccarat, surpassing any other combination of cards. Furthermore, it makes for a smart bet since a natural wins even money and pays 8:1 when tied bets occur.

Draw and Standing Rules in Baccarat
Each player and banker receive two cards that will be compared against one another to determine who has the closest point total of 9.

Alternatively, if either hand totals eight or nine points at the conclusion of play, this is considered a natural win and the game is over. If neither hand qualifies as natural wins, however, then players have the option of accepting or declining an additional card before drawing it and comparing again their two hands. If accepted, an additional card will be drawn before further comparison between their hands takes place.

When both Player and Banker possess natural numbers eight or nine in their hands, their hands are again compared and announced the winning hand is announced.

Based on the rules of play, either hand may then take an additional card from either deck as determined by “chemin de fer” (French for “drawing a third card”) rule.

Situation 1 : When the Player holds a hand of 0-5, he or she must draw one card before standing if their hand scores between 6-7. Likewise, Bankers must also draw cards on hands that score between 0-5 and stand when their hand scores between 6-7.

Banker will never draw when the Player holds natural eights or nines; however, they will always draw when totalling between 0-5 hands are held by Player.

What Does “Natural Nine” Signify in Baccarat? A natural nine in baccarat is one of the most sought-after combinations and it is also the hardest hand to lose with.
